Sward production

As part of the script development in September 2010, a read through was arranged before a selected audience.  Composed of farmers, botanists and critical 'friends' the play was well received and we gained invaluable feedback on some specific details. Here is a view taken from that evening:

Moving forward a few months, the beginning of April 2011 saw the cast and team drawn together for the first time, from that first day, the team:
L to R - Paula Horton (tour administrator), Joe Fleming, Josie Cerise, Chris Jordan, Chris Hallam with Mike Bettison (director) and Rosie Cross (Highlights) in the front of the pic.

As part of the rehearsal schedule, the four actors spent a day in the North Pennines.

In addition to visiting 2 species rich meadows in Upper Teasdale, the cast spent some time with Hay experts from the North Pennines AONB Partnership.

Hmmmm.....

Chris J meets his new pal, but was heard muttering 'They never mentioned working with animals at the audition'

Whilst Josie was rueing her misinterpretation of 'working with moving scenery' when it was mentioned at her audition.
